A digital agency’s team recently swapped spreadsheets for samosas when they held their annual curry night at the Raj, an Indian restaurant in the heart of Culcheth.
Staff from across the company’s departments gathered for an evening of food, drinks and conversation, continuing a tradition that has become a firm fixture in the team’s calendar.
A night away from the desks
The annual curry night gives colleagues the chance to relax and enjoy one another’s company outside working hours. The team sees social events of this kind as an important part of building strong working relationships and maintaining a positive atmosphere in the office.
Sharing experiences, interests and a mutual enthusiasm for Indian cuisine all play a part, and the evening is one that staff look forward to well in advance.
A menu to remember
The Raj, known for its authentic Indian cooking, did not disappoint. From spicy starters through to aromatic main courses, each dish was carefully prepared and presented.
The group worked their way through a range of options, among them chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh and vegetable biryani, served with freshly baked naan bread and fragrant rice. Attentive staff made sure everyone was well looked after, and the team left satisfied.
Karaoke and a show-stopping performance
The food was only part of the evening. The team also held a karaoke session, with colleagues taking to the microphone to perform favourite songs and cheer each other on.
The standout moment came from Maeve, a graphic designer, whose rendition of Tom Jones’s Delilah drew warm applause and plenty of admiration from the room.
Building bonds beyond the office
The curry night proved both a culinary treat and a chance for the team to strengthen its bonds. The atmosphere on the night reflected a wider commitment to maintaining good relationships among colleagues, and the team is already looking forward to future events of the same kind.
